Asakusa Temple Zodiac Bell Charm

These charms are from the Asakusa Shrine, a famous and historic Shinto shrine located right next to the Senso-ji Temple in Tokyo, Japan. Their purposes are to:

厄除 (Yakuyoke): Ward off evil, misfortune, or bad luck.

 開運 (Kaiun): Bring or attract good fortune and prosperity.

Each ceramic charm depicts one of the twelve animals of the Zodiac and contains a small bell.
